Major Crash Closes A3 Southbound Near Longmoor – Expect Delays
The A3 in Hampshire is shut southbound between the A325 and A272 near Longmoor after a serious collision. A huge recovery and clean-up operation is underway, and the road could stay closed for hours.
Traffic Diverted via ‘Solid Triangle’ Route
Drivers are being rerouted locally around the closure using the so-called ‘Solid Triangle’ diversion. Here’s the route to follow:
- Leave the A3 southbound at the Liphook interchange.
- At the T junction, turn left onto the B2171 (1 Road) and follow for about 8 miles.
- Join the A272 London Road at the junction and continue to the Sheet roundabout.
- Take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto the Sheet interchange link road.
- Carry on for approximately 1 mile then take the 1st exit to rejoin the A3 southbound.
Plan Ahead for Delays
Motorists heading through the area should allow extra time. The clean-up could take a while and significant delays are expected.
