Milford, Surrey – Chaos struck the A3 on Monday afternoon after a 4×4 and caravan overturned near the Milford bypass, resulting in the complete closure of the road.
The crash happened at approximately 3.20pm between the A283 Portsmouth Road and the A283/B3001 Elstead Road junction. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene as traffic on the London-bound carriageway came to a standstill.
South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that they treated one woman at the site of the accident. She was subsequently taken to hospital with a suspected collarbone injury. We wish her a swift and full recovery.
Adding to the traffic disruption, police implemented a rolling roadblock on the southbound M3 between Junctions 3 and 4 just before 5pm, further complicating the evening rush hour conditions.
Recovery teams are currently working to clear the wreckage, causing significant tailbacks on the northbound A3. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and to expect long delays while the incident is resolved.
