Two people were fined after dyeing their hair in a Langland Bay car park on the Gower Peninsula near Swansea, as South Wales Police continue their crackdown on lockdown rule breakers.

Over the weekend, police issued a total of 370 Fixed Penalty Notices amid sunnier weather that saw crowds flocking to popular beauty spots, ignoring lockdown restrictions.

Chief Superintendent of South Wales Police warned the public to adhere to the rules and avoid risky behaviour during the ongoing lockdown.

Fines were also issued to individuals travelling to seaside locations including Southerndown, Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan, and Bracelet Bay in Mumbles, Swansea.

Additionally, 105 penalty notices were handed out to people caught attending eight house parties in Cathays, Cardiff.

In response to the breaches, car parks at popular beauty spots were closed over the weekend to reduce gatherings.

At the Welsh Government coronavirus briefing on Monday, First Minister Mark Drakeford urged the public to act responsibly, reminding that under Wales’ lockdown rules, leaving home is only permitted for exercise or essential reasons.
