Just after midnight on Wednesday 8 March, a car stopped on Ongar Road, Chigwell, after its occupants noticed a dog in the middle of the road. When the woman passenger, aged in her 50s, stepped out of the vehicle, the dog attacked her, causing serious wounds to her arm and leg.

Police are currently investigating the incident and are seeking witnesses and any available footage. PC Jack Witney, who is leading the investigation, said, “We’d particularly like to see any footage of the incident. We understand a dark-coloured security van may have recorded the attack.”
