Ryde Man Arrested Over Isle of Wight Police Attack
A 19-year-old from Ryde has been arrested after allegedly attacking a police officer during a stop and search on the Isle of Wight.
Police Nab Suspect Following Officer Assault
The man was taken into custody this morning after a tip-off led officers to track him down. He was arrested and questioned at Newport Police Station.
Incident Details: Attack on Pallance Road
The attack happened on Pallance Road, Cowes, when officers stopped a scooter for a routine check. The officer suffered an eye injury and was treated for it.
Second Suspect Released
A second man from the Cowes area, initially arrested in connection to the incident, has been released without charge.
A police spokesperson said: “A 19-year-old man from Ryde had been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody being questioned over the alleged assault.”
