Aysha Frade: First Civilian Victim Named in Westminster Terror Attack

The first civilian casualty of yesterday’s Westminster terror attack has been identified as Aysha Frade, 43, a beloved British mother-of-two with Galician roots.

Picking Up Her Children When Tragedy Struck

Mrs Frade was heading home from her job at DLD College near Westminster Bridge, where she was head of department and taught Spanish. She was crossing the bridge to collect her two children, aged 8 and 11, from school when the horror unfolded.

Beloved Teacher and Mother

Aysha had lived in London all her life. Her father was Cypriot and her mother hailed from Betanzos in northwest Spain.

DLD College principal Rachel Borland paid tribute: “We are all deeply shocked and saddened. Aysha was a highly regarded and loved member of staff, admired by both students and colleagues.”

She added, “Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family. We will offer every support to help them through this devastating loss.”
