Newborn Baby Found Dead in Bilston Supermarket Car Park

Police are urgently searching for the mother of a newborn baby found dead this morning in a Morrisons car park in Bilston.

A passerby made the grim discovery just after 9am at the Black Country Route store. Authorities have yet to determine when the baby was born or how it ended up there.

Police Appeal for Mother’s Identity

Detective Inspector Jim Edmonds, from the public protection unit, said: “This is a truly tragic discovery, and we’ve treated the scene and the baby with the utmost care and dignity today.”

He added: “While we don’t yet know what has happened, there must be a mother out there who is in real need of help – she is my absolute priority right now.”

Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage and checking hospitals but desperately want the mother or anyone who knows her to come forward.
