Armed Police Lock Down Lambeth Estate After Shots Fired Near School
Armed officers from the Met’s “Trojan” unit and response teams swarmed Moorland Road in Lambeth just after 10:30pm on Friday, December 9th. The dramatic rush followed reports of a shooting at a housing estate in the Borough.

Armed officers quickly sealed off the area surrounding a property, with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service called to the scene. A large number of residents were barred from returning to their homes as the investigation unfolded.
Close to Moorland Primary School
The tense incident took place just yards from Moorland Road Primary School, sparking fears among locals. A police search dog and handler were also deployed, combing the streets in hunt of evidence.
Ongoing Investigation, No Arrests Yet
A Met Police spokesperson confirmed: “Officers are investigating shots fired in the Moorland Road area of Brixton just after 10pm last night. Nobody was taken to hospital; there have been no arrests.”
