A woman in her 50s has died following a collision with a car on the A12 Eastern Avenue near Ellesmere Gardens, Ilford, on the evening of Wednesday, December 4.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 9:15pm. Officers from the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service responded swiftly.
The pedestrian was treated at the roadside before being rushed to hospital. Despite the efforts of medics, she tragically passed away.
The driver involved stopped at the scene and is fully cooperating with the police investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
