Three Men Stuck in Mud on River Medway Rescue Drama
Kent Fire and Rescue Service sprang into action after reports that three men in a boat were stranded in thick mud on the River Medway at Lower Halstow, near Sittingbourne.
Five Fire Engines and Coastguard Join Mud Rescue
Five fire engines, including the specialist Water Safety Unit, raced to the scene off Lapwing Drive. Crews teamed up with H.M. Coastguard, using mud rescue gear to haul the trio safely back to solid ground.
Men Handed to Ambulance Crew as Police Stand By
The rescued men were handed over to SECAmb paramedics for medical checks. Kent Police officers were also on site, overseeing the recovery operation.
