Horrific Homophobic Attack in Stamford Hill – Police Hunt Suspects
Detectives are on the hunt after a brutal homophobic attack rocked Stamford Hill in the early hours of Sunday, 26 July. Police have released CCTV footage and e-fit images, calling on the public to help identify two men linked to the vicious assault and robbery.
Victim Attacked and Robbed Near Seven Sisters Road
The victim, a man in his 20s, was walking near the junction of Seven Sisters Road and Amhurst Park when two men shouted homophobic abuse at him before launching a physical attack. The victim suffered minor injuries and had his headphones stolen during the ordeal.
After the initial assault, the attackers returned to rob the victim again, attempting to steal his phone alongside the headphones.
Police Release Images and Call for Witnesses
- One suspect: White, mid-20s, about 5ft 6ins tall, with a beard, wearing a green baseball cap.
- Second suspect: White, mid-20s, roughly 6ft 2ins, curly blond or ginger hair, leather jacket over a T-shirt.
Detective Sergeant James Rush said: “This was a vicious attack, made worse by the homophobic abuse. We urge anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. The men in the CCTV or anyone who knows them must contact us. The victim helped create e-fit images of the suspects – please help us identify them.”
Officers are still keen to track down a woman in a white car who stopped to offer help to the victim, as well as any other witnesses. A man in a black car who passed the scene has already spoken with police.
