Just after 4pm on September 11, a man walked into JD Sports at Canal Walk. Staff told him not to try on clothes, citing Covid safety rules. But he ignored them.
When staff asked him again to stop trying on items, the man flew into a verbal tirade. He hurled homophobic abuse, leaving a staff member scared the outburst might turn physical.
Staff Left Shaken After Verbal Assault
