Gang in Balaclavas Open Fire After Car Chase
Witnesses say the shooting erupted after a high-speed chase involving a Mini Clubman and a Land Rover Freelander. The attackers, reportedly wearing balaclavas, rammed the Mini before surrounding it and firing two shots at Kai.
Kai was found with a gunshot wound in Hillside but died at the scene despite medics’ efforts. Residents heard up to seven shots and screams, with one neighbour rushing to help and using towels to staunch the bleeding.

Tributes have flooded social media. “Rest in peace, my boy,” friends and family wrote on Kai’s Facebook profile. His girlfriend posted: “Tonight, my boyfriend died on the scene. Please give me some silence. If anyone knows anything, contact the police or me.”
A cousin said: “I’m numb, I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. He felt more like a brother than a cousin.” Other mourners called out, “Sleep well, my angel” and “Rest in beautiful and perfect peace, Kai.”
