The 52-year-old cabbie had just picked up a fare on Tribe Road around 1am on Monday, June 20, when trouble hit.
An unknown man, arms covering his face, appeared from an alley and suddenly yanked open a car door. He leapt into the front seat and threatened the driver, demanding cash.
Driver Makes Daring Escape
Starting to reverse the cab, the driver then bolted into Vernon Road, chased by the intruder. In a desperate move, he tossed cash back at the attacker, who fled towards Whitworth Road.
