Manchester Rape Spree Suspect Arrested After Months of Attacks
Police have arrested a man in his 40s linked to four separate rapes in Manchester city centre since February 2024. The suspect was taken into custody this morning, Sunday 21 July, and remains held as detectives continue their investigation.
Targeting Drunk Victims, Stealing Personal Items
The alleged attacker preyed on intoxicated men and women, carrying out brutal assaults before stealing their belongings. Detective Superintendent Richard Hunt, the force lead for Rape and Other Sexual Offences, said:
“These are truly horrific crimes. No one should feel unsafe on Greater Manchester’s streets. Our specialist officers are providing full support to the victims and are determined to deliver justice.”
Police Urge Victims to Come Forward
Detectives stress the importance of reporting any incidents of sexual violence or abuse. “If you’ve been affected, please don’t suffer in silence,” said Superintendent Hunt. “Every report will be thoroughly investigated, and victims fully supported throughout.”
