Shocking Attack Filmed on Teen in Southampton Park
A brutal assault on a 15-year-old boy was caught on camera and posted online, sparking outrage. The sickening clip shows youths kicking and punching the victim at Riverside Park, Bitterne, Southampton.
Violent Attack in Broad Daylight
The incident happened around 2.30pm on Sunday, July 24, in the busy Riverside Park near Woodmill Lane. Two boys were hurt during the fight, with one needing hospital treatment following the savage attack.
Hampshire Police confirmed they are investigating the assault after the video went viral on Facebook. The footage reveals one attacker using an object, believed to be a hammer or similar tool, to beat the boy as he lies helpless on the ground.
Disturbing Footage Reveals Desperate Escape
The clip ends with the teen scrambling away from the gang, his shirt in tatters. Just before it cuts out, someone shouts, “chuck me the hammer bruv.” The person who uploaded the video claims they weren’t present but alleges the victim was attacked with a hammer and other tools.
Police Plea: Don’t Share the Video
Hampshire Police urged the public not to share the video or name those involved, warning it could endanger victims, witnesses, and suspects, and hamper the investigation.
“This is a shocking video of what appears to be a very violent attack on two teenage boys. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable,” said Police Staff Investigator Elaine Rogers from the Western Investigation Team.
“We know many people witnessed this and ask them to contact us in confidence on 101, quoting reference 44160276248.”
The attack has shocked the local community, and police vow to bring those responsible to justice.
