A serious crash took place around 4.20pm on Tuesday 25 June 2019 on the coastbound carriageway of the A2 near Ebbsfleet. The collision involved a blue Audi A4 and a black Infiniti M35h. Police suspect that other unidentified vehicles may also have been involved in the incident.
Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service and an air ambulance, responded promptly to the scene. A man in his 60s was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash. They are asking anyone who witnessed the vehicles before the collision or who has dash cam footage from the area at the time to come forward. Drivers involved in the incident who have not yet spoken to police are also urged to make contact.
The coastbound carriageway was closed until 10.40pm on 25 June while emergency crews and investigators examined the scene. The Londonbound carriageway was temporarily closed to allow the air ambulance to land safely.
