Police in Ryde, Isle of Wight, carried out a planned early morning raid on a property on Union Street today as part of a Class A drugs operation.

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary targeted the home in the busy town, leading to the arrest of a 37-year-old man on suspicion of dealing Class A drugs.

Following a thorough search of the premises, the man was taken to Newport Police Station for questioning.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police confirmed the arrest, stating the man remains in custody on suspicion of involvement in the supply of Class A substances.

Enquiries are ongoing as detectives continue their investigation into the case.
