Man Held Over Disappearance of Craig Hurcombe
Wiltshire man Craig Hurcombe, 40, has been missing since New Year’s Day. Police have now arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of murder.
Craig was last seen at around 6.20pm on 1 January near Gurney Slade, Somerset. Initially reported missing to Wiltshire Police on 10 January, the case was swiftly taken over by Avon and Somerset Police two days later.
Police Arrest Man in Connection with Murder
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the suspect is a man in his forties currently in custody. Craig is described as white, about 5ft 9in tall, with an average build. When last seen, he was possibly wearing light trousers, a dark jacket, and a beanie hat.
Dashcam Footage Sought on Key Roads
Detectives are urgently hunting for dashcam videos from drivers who traveled along crucial routes at specific times around New Year:
- Roemead Road, Roemead Lane, Simbriss Road, Pound Lane, Galley Batch Lane, and Golf Links Lane between 6pm on 1 January and 2am on 2 January
- Roemead Road between 11pm on 30 December and 2am on 31 December
“CCTV and dashcam footage are crucial to our investigation,” said Chief Inspector Andy Pritchard. “We’re working closely with Wiltshire and Dorset Police while supporting Craig’s family.”
