A man is in custody after a high-speed police chase in Wiltshire ended with a dramatic takedown by a police dog.
Mercedes Mercedes Flees Police, Crashes Into Tree
Just after 2.30am on 10 March, a suspicious Mercedes C220 caught the eye of officers on Cricklade Road. The moment the driver spotted the marked police car, he hit the gas and fled.
The chase was short but intense, ending when the Mercedes careered down an alley near St Marks Recreation Ground and smashed into a tree. The 25-year-old driver then bolted on foot.
Police Dog Vagus Locks on Suspect in Stand-Off
Officers quickly called in PD Vagus, their trusty canine unit. With expert precision, Vagus executed a “stand-off” move and pinned the man down — no bite needed.
Thanks to Vagus’s quick action, the suspect was caught and taken into custody without injury.
