Police Hunt Portsmouth Football Thugs After Violent Pre-Match Spree
Portsmouth police are on the lookout for four men involved in a violent rampage before the Pompey vs Plymouth Argyle clash. They want to speak to anyone who recognises these football hooligans caught on CCTV.
Violence Erupts in Portsmouth Guildhall
Between 11am and 11:30am on Friday 14 April, chaos broke out around Portsmouth’s Guildhall. Rival fans unleashed violence, hurling coins that shattered buildings and attacking both opposing supporters and police officers.
Public Left Shaken and Seeking Answers
“These incidents took place in busy public places and caused considerable concern and worry to innocent members of the public who happened to be in the area,” said PC I Pocock.
Police Urge Football Thugs to Step Forward
PC Pocock added, “I am appealing for anyone who recognises any of the men in the CCTV to get in touch. I would also appeal directly to these men to come forward and make contact with us.”
