Hero Paramedic Stabbed on Job Now Home and Recovering
A brave paramedic stabbed while answering a call in Wolverhampton has been discharged from hospital and is now recovering at home.
Attack on Frontline Medics During 999 Call
Deena Evans and colleague Michael Hipgrave were attending a 999 emergency on Stephens Close at around 12:20pm on Monday (6th) when a man they had come to help turned violent.
Deena suffered a knife wound to her chest, while Michael was injured in the back during the shocking attack.
Both Paramedics in Good Spirits After Hospital Release
West Midlands Ambulance Trust confirmed Deena was released from Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, on Wednesday afternoon. Michael has also been discharged and is recovering at home.
“Both are in good spirits as they continue their recovery,” a Trust spokesman said. The ambulance service is providing full support to the pair and their colleagues affected by the incident.
