Police slap 48-hour clampdown on Cliftonville troublemakers!
Ban kicks in Friday evening
A 48-hour order comes into force from 6pm on Friday 11 February 2022. The crackdown targets anti-social behaviour in Cliftonville, covering hotspots like Northdown Road, Norfolk Road, and Athelstan Road.
Zero tolerance for troublemakers
Anyone caught acting anti-socially, or likely to cause alarm or distress, can be ordered by police or PCSOs to leave and not return – or face arrest. This tough stance aims to clean up the streets fast.
Police respond to recent chaos
Kent Police has received reports of groups of youths causing havoc: blocking roads with obstacles, damaging property, and stirring disturbances. The force is not having it.
Inspector Ian Swallow from Thanet Community Safety Unit said: “The actions of a small minority behaving irresponsibly have a big impact on the community. Our officers will take strong action against anyone causing trouble in Cliftonville this weekend.”
“We urge residents to report any anti-social behaviour by calling 101 (or 999 if a crime is in progress) or via our website so we can act swiftly.”
