Police launched a desperate search earlier today to find Kadian Nelson, wanted in connection with an alleged rape in Merton.
The manhunt ended swiftly this evening when officers arrested a 26-year-old at 8:02pm on Robinson Road, SW17, following a call from a concerned member of the public.
The suspect is now in police custody as the investigation continues.
Authorities have informed the victim and her family. They are being supported by specially trained officers, ensuring they get the care they need during this difficult time.
The South West Command Unit worked round the clock after the alleged rape was reported shortly after 7am on Tuesday, 3 November, in the North Place area.
Officers thank the media and public for sharing appeals and remind everyone to avoid sharing details that could identify the victim or impact legal proceedings.
Due to rising fears of serious violence, a Section 60 Order remains in place across the boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth. This gives police extra stop-and-search powers amid ongoing safety concerns.
