Emergency services swooped on Dewsbury town centre after a man was seriously stabbed on Friday afternoon. Police sealed off the area, deploying dog units and the NPAS helicopter in a major response.

Serious Assault on Foundry Street

Officers rushed to a commercial property on Foundry Street around 1:50pm following reports of a stabbing. The victim, a man in his 50s, suffered a blade injury but is not in a life-threatening condition. He was quickly taken to hospital for treatment.

Suspects Flee the Scene

Witnesses say two men and a woman, all described as white, ran from the scene up Market Street immediately after the attack.

46-Year-Old Man Arrested

Police have arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of Section 18 wounding. He is currently in custody as investigations continue.
