Chaos in Horley: Man in Boxer Shorts Sparks Mayhem
Police descended on Horley this morning after a bizarre and violent scene unfolded. At 9:41am on 18 January, officers were called following reports of a man jumping in and out of a pond on Riverside, dressed only in his boxer shorts. But the strange behaviour didn’t stop there — the man then stormed into Horley’s Costa Coffee, causing panic.
Woman Attacked, 42-Year-Old Man Arrested
During the shocking incident, a woman was assaulted and rushed to hospital for treatment. Just 33 minutes later, at 10:14am, a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Out
“We were called to reports of an assault in Horley. The male was swiftly located and arrested,” said Eastern Divisional Duty Inspector Raf Alvarez.
“I would like to take this opportunity to appeal for anyone who witnessed this incident to get in touch.”
Suspect Detained Under Mental Health Act
The suspect has been held under the Mental Health Act. Police believe he is not local and are working to confirm where he lives.
