A man in his 50s has tragically died after being both stabbed and shot in Cambridge Crescent, Shepway, just before 11am on Sunday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, where a police cordon remains in place.

Kent Police confirmed they have arrested a local man, also in his 50s, on suspicion of murder. A firearm has been recovered from the area.

Officers were called at 10:43am after reports of a gunshot wound to the victim.

An ambulance spokesman said: “The South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Air Ambulance were sent to the scene where the man sustained serious injuries.”

Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate has launched a full investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack.
