Man Busted Carrying Fake Gun on Alum Rock Road

Armed Police Nab 32-Year-Old After 999 Call

Chaos on Alum Rock Road was averted last Thursday evening when cops swooped on a man spotted with what looked like a real gun. West Midlands Police revealed officers arrested a 32-year-old following urgent 999 calls reporting a gun on Washwood Heath Road.

Armed units arrived at the scene around 7.30pm and quickly detained the suspect. They seized a BB gun, which appeared genuine but posed no real threat to the public.

Imitation Firearm Arrest Made

The man now faces charges for possessing an imitation weapon with intent to cause fear of violence. A West Midlands Police spokesperson said, “Thanks to the alert public who informed us, officers were able to respond rapidly and take the man into custody.

Police Training Praised After Incident

One onlooker praised the police, saying, “The officers handled the situation brilliantly. Only one was armed, but none backed down. It was reassuring to see them in action, especially knowing how frightening it could have been on that bus.”

Important: This incident is NOT linked to the recent terror attack in Westminster.
