Police were called to a property on South Walk, Meir, around midday on Thursday 12 November after reports of a woman in her 30s suffering a cardiac arrest.

Emergency services responded quickly and the woman was taken to hospital, but she tragically passed away the following morning, Friday 13 November.

A 35-year-old man from Sandwell, West Midlands, has been arrested in connection with the woman’s death. He has since been released on conditional bail while police carry out further inquiries.

Specially trained officers are providing support to the woman’s family during this difficult time. Formal identification of the deceased is expected to take place soon.

Staffordshire Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward. People can contact them via Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 258 of 12 November, call 101, or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
