Man Arrested After Punching Police Officer on London Tube Train

Violent Brawl Breaks Out on District Line

A man in his 20s was snapped up by cops after landing a brutal punch to a police officer’s face on a London Underground train.

The shocking attack went down at around 7.50am on January 23, aboard a District Line train heading westbound between South Kensington and Gloucester Road.

Argument Turns Nasty

British Transport Police (BTP) revealed two men were involved in a heated row which quickly spiralled out of control. One of them swung a punch, connecting squarely with the officer’s left cheek.

The suspect was immediately arrested on scene. Charges are piling up, including:

  • Assault causing grievous bodily harm
  • Assaulting an emergency worker
  • Possession of a Class B drug

Police Launch Witness Appeal

The BTP is urging anyone who saw what went down to help with their investigation:
