Police are investigating a tragic crash on the Isle of Wight after a scooter rider was killed in a collision on Newport Road.
Just before 9.40pm on August 25, officers were called to the scene of a crash involving a scooter and a car in Apse Heath, Newport Road. The male scooter rider sadly died at the scene.
A 36-year-old woman from Ventnor was arrested on suspicion of causing death by reckless driving. She remains in custody as inquiries continue.
Road closures caused disruption last night but have now been lifted. Officers are working to piece together what led to this fatal incident.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. Witnesses are asked to call 101 and quote reference 44220346694.
