Carcroft, Doncaster, is on edge this weekend as police increase patrols following a series of violent incidents on Milton Road. Residents were alarmed after gunshots were fired twice outside the same property, and a motorhome was deliberately set on fire in what police are treating as arson.
The first shooting occurred late on Thursday, July 27. At approximately 11:20 pm, a vehicle stopped on Milton Road, leading to a confrontation between several men. Shots were fired during the incident. Police quickly arrested a 51-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause violence.
Just one week later, on Thursday, August 3, at around 11:45 pm, a silver vehicle pulled up outside the same address. Three shots were fired towards the property before the vehicle sped away.
In the early hours of Saturday, August 5, a motorhome parked outside the property was set ablaze. The fire caused significant damage, and police are investigating the incident as arson.
Fortunately, no one was injured in any of the incidents. Detective Sergeant Joe Hackworthy, who is leading the investigation, confirmed that police presence would be increased throughout the weekend to support the community and advance the inquiry.
