Former Met Police detective Peter Bleksley has launched a savage attack on Mayor Sadiq Khan after a damning BBC investigation revealed vulnerable girls as young as 13 are being pimped out by grooming gangs across London. The report starkly contradicts Khan’s earlier claim that there was “no indication” such horrors were happening in the capital.

Bleksley slams Khan: ‘Liar or Clueless on Grooming Gangs’

Speaking to GB News, Bleksley didn’t hold back. “He was either lying when he said there were no rape gangs in London, or he was ignorant of the facts,” Bleksley said. “Either way, it proves beyond doubt Sadiq Khan is not fit for the high office of any description.”

Shocking BBC Probe Uncovers Nightmarish Stories

The BBC’s weeks-long investigation featured dozens of interviews, including five courageous women who survived gang-related violence. Survivors recounted horrific tales of being gang-raped as “payment” for drug debts, forced on them by ruthless criminal gangs controlling their lives.

Others were groomed specifically for sex. The gangs also pushed girls into drug dealing, weapons running, and phone theft — a brutal cocktail of criminal and sexual exploitation.

Bleksley Condemns Police Failures on Offender Records

Bleksley blasted police chiefs for weak tracking of offenders, calling it “outrageous” and “cowardly.” He warned the current system relies entirely on victim testimony to identify offenders. “The ethnicity should always be recorded for every crime. End of story,” he demanded.

Mayor’s Office and Met Respond Amid Public Fury

A spokesman for Khan said anyone exploiting children is “utterly abhorrent.” The Mayor “wants justice for every victim” and expects the Met to “follow the evidence wherever it leads” and tackle all forms of child sexual exploitation, including grooming gangs.

Met Deputy Assistant Commissioner Kevin Southworth said grooming gangs remain “very high” on the force’s risk radar. “We are acutely aware of the risk and prevalence of grooming gangs in London,” he confirmed.

Campaigners Promise to Keep Fighting

Campaigner Cunningham vowed: “As Mayor, I will never overlook the sexual exploitation of girls in London. I will root out abusers, dismantle gangs, and expose everyone who denied or covered this up.”
