Just after 6am on New Year’s Day, emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash at the junction of the A34 and M40 Junction 9 roundabout. Firefighters from Bicester, Kidlington, and Rewley Road rushed to the scene to assist.
The driver was arrested by Thames Valley Police after being found to be more than twice the legal drink-drive limit. Despite the severe impact of the crash, the motorist suffered only minor injuries and was fortunate to avoid serious harm.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with drink and drug driving. It also highlights the risks involved in the “morning after,” when some drivers mistakenly believe they are sober enough to drive.
If you have any doubt about your fitness to drive, it is crucial not to take the risk. Staying safe protects not only yourself but also other road users.
