Tragic Stabbing of David Gomoh: Police Hunt Killers and Abandoned Getaway Car

Detectives are on the hunt after David Gomoh, 24, was fatally stabbed just seconds after leaving his home in Newham. An abandoned stolen car linked to the murder has been released to the public as police race to catch the killers.

Brutal Killing on Freemasons Road

David was attacked at around 10:25pm on Sunday, 26 April, near Kerry Close on Freemasons Road, E16. The victim, a London Southbank University marketing graduate, was on the phone to a female friend and showed no sign of trouble before the vicious assault.

Stolen Dodge Caliber Linked to Murder Dumped Nearby

The murder suspects fled in a silver Dodge Caliber, stolen from Dagenham on 16 April and fitted with cloned plates. The distinctive car, identifiable by a temporary wheel on the front passenger side, was abandoned minutes later on Lincoln Road, E13, after being driven through a no-entry sign from Cumberland Road.

Police urge anyone who saw the car before or after the attack, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward immediately.

Family Devastated by Unprovoked Kill

David’s family is reeling from blow after blow. His father recently died from a Covid-19 related illness, with the funeral scheduled for 29 April. Now, the family must face another tragic loss.

Like his nurse mother, David worked as an NHS keyworker supplying essential equipment during the pandemic.

“David was a young man who had worked hard to put himself through university and, like his mother, worked hard for the community in the NHS. At this time we believe the only thing David did to be murdered was walk down a street,” said Detective Inspector Tony Kirk.

“He was apparently approached by a group of men wearing masks and stabbed multiple times in a ferocious assault. David and his mother, who have done so much to help the community, now need the public to come forward and tell us what they know.

If you have any information, please think of this young man and the suffering of his family and call us. If you don’t want to give your name, call Crimestoppers, but do make that call. David’s family deserve both answers and justice.”

Police Appeal: Help Catch David’s Killers

No arrests have been made yet.

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) are urging witnesses or anyone with details to call the incident room on 020 8345 3985. Your tip could bring justice for David and his grieving family.
