Masked Knife-Wielding Robber Hits Spar in Broad Daylight
Chaos erupted at a Sunnyside Road Spar store at 10:15am on October 28 when a balaclava-clad man armed with what appeared to be a knife burst in and demanded cash.
Staff Quick-Thinking Averts Disaster
Armed officers were scrambled to the scene, but the suspect vanished without a trace. Thanks to the swift actions of store workers, no staff or customers were harmed during the terrifying ordeal.
£3,000 Stolen as Police Hunt Key Witness
The masked robber made off with around £3,000 in cash after issuing threats. Ashton CID is now on the case, releasing a CCTV image of a man they believe holds vital info about the heist.
Detective Sergeant Pete Goddard said: “Imagine the shock of those inside when a man with his face covered and wielding a knife threatened them. It was a cowardly act.”
