Food Delivery Driver Violently Attacked in Motorbike Mugging
Three Men Target Rider in Shocking Evening Assault
At around 6pm on Friday 8 April, a man in his 40s was brutally attacked while working as a food delivery driver. Three males confronted him demanding his motorbike. When he refused and tried to escape, he was shoved to the ground, causing his motorbike to land on top of him.
Thugs Flee After Public Intervene
While the victim lay injured, the attackers tried to steal the motorbike. However, witnesses disturbed the assault, forcing the assailants to flee the scene empty-handed.
Police Release CCTV and Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives have gathered extensive CCTV footage and are hunting the three men involved. Detective Constable Lyndsey Smith condemned the attack, calling it “disgraceful and unprovoked.” She added:
“This was a disgraceful and unprovoked attack on an innocent man who was out working, trying to earn money for his family.”
“I urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV footage to come forward. We also want the men in the images, or anyone who recognises them, to contact us. They could hold vital information.”
