Woman Attacked on Southsea Common: Police Hunt Two Suspects
A woman was viciously attacked on Southsea Common near the Pyramid Centre late Monday night, 3 August. The assault happened around 9.45pm close to the junction of South Parade and Jack Cockerill Way. She suffered serious injuries in the brutal attack.
Police Probe Points to Two Possible Attackers
Police confirm the investigation is complex and now believe there could be two men involved. Officers are working flat out to track down the suspects and are appealing to the public for any information that might crack the case.
- A 19-year-old previously arrested over a sexual assault linked to the incident has been cleared and will face no further action.

Suspect Description and Crucial Witness Appeal
One attacker is described as white, with facial hair, wearing a dark baseball cap, a dark zip-up top, and a blue surgical mask. Police are asking anyone who saw two or more men acting suspiciously or a lone man loitering near shrubbery on Southsea Common that night to come forward.
The common was busy due to hot weather and the nearby circus setting up. It was also dark, making eyewitness accounts critical.
Police also want to hear from anyone with dashcam footage from Clarence Esplanade, Jack Cockerill Way, South Parade, or Clarence Parade between 9.30pm and 11.30pm.
