Teenager Stabbed to Death Near Norwood Road on New Year’s Eve

Police raced to Norwood Road near Station Rise SE27 at 10.30pm on Sunday, December 31, after reports of a stabbing. Emergency services, including London’s Air Ambulance, found a 17-year-old boy with a single stab wound.

Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene by 11.38pm. Officers believe they know who he is but are waiting for formal ID. Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem will follow as detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command launch a full murder probe.

No Arrests Yet

So far, no arrests have been made. Police say it’s too early to speculate on a motive. However, inquiries suggest the violence started during a fight on a route 68 bus heading towards Herne Hill, just before the stabbing.
