Police have released CCTV images following a brazen theft and attempted swipe of costly computer ink cartridges at the Asda supermarket in Swanley.

On Monday 11 May 2020, at around 4.15pm, two men tried to leave the London Road store with stock valued at over £1,000 without paying. Security staff intercepted them and recovered the goods, but the suspects managed to escape.

Officers believe this incident is linked to a violent theft that occurred on 12 January at the same shop. During that earlier event, a staff member was assaulted after challenging a man and woman who were pushing a trolley loaded with ink cartridges worth more than £800.

The person pictured in the released CCTV footage may hold key information for the investigation. Police are urging anyone who recognises him to contact West Kent police on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/80087/20.

Information can also be reported anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or through their online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
