Fire crews from Guildford and Woking rushed to tackle a fierce blaze at Rileys in Haydon Place, Guildford. Initial reports indicated missing and potentially trapped individuals, triggering a significant emergency response.

Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service intervened, closing part of the road to support firefighting efforts. A Surrey Fire & Rescue spokesman confirmed that firefighters were battling the fire on the 8th floor of an adjacent multi-storey car park.

The incident remains classified as “persons reported,” suggesting some members of the public were unaccounted for and may have been affected by the fire.

Authorities confirmed that the fire was deliberate, leading to an arson investigation conducted jointly by Surrey Police and Surrey Fire & Rescue. Firefighters employed two hose reels and four breathing apparatus sets to extinguish the flames.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. Emergency services continue their operations and investigations at the scene. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
