Police in Oxford have launched a search for a hammer-wielding burglar who forcibly entered a home in Carter Close. The incident occurred at approximately 12.30pm on Monday, September 28.

The masked offender smashed his way into the property and stole multiple items. The homeowner, a man in his sixties, was inside the house during the break-in but was not injured.

Detective Constable Ed Horley of St Aldates Police Station has released CCTV images of the suspect in connection with the incident. He stated: “It was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who has the right to feel safe and secure in his own home. Thankfully, he was unharmed. We’re investigating this incident thoroughly and urgently.”

Detective Constable Horley added: “I believe the man pictured might have crucial information to help us. If you recognise him or think it could be you, please contact Thames Valley Police immediately.”
