Armed Attack Shakes Peaceful Gathering
Chaos erupted near the Damilola Taylor Centre in Peckham late Tuesday night as a gang of masked men launched a terrifying attack during a funeral wake. The group, armed with guns and baseball bats, stormed the youth centre’s hall yard on Commercial Way, SE15, just after 11pm.
Two Men Stabbed, One Hospitalised
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene after reports of a violent fight. Two men in their 20s were found with stab wounds. One refused further medical aid after being treated at the scene. The other was rushed to hospital, with his condition currently unknown. Shockingly, a dog also suffered stab injuries during the assault.
Arrests Made as Police Investigate
Officers quickly arrested two men on suspicion of affray. A crime scene remains in place as detectives probe the motive behind the brutal attack at what should have been a solemn occasion.
