Ambulance Hit by Object on Emergency Call—Paramedic Killed
Tragedy at Busy Junction
An ambulance rushing to a 999 call was struck by an object on its windscreen at 8am. The shocking incident took place at the junction of Moreton Road and the A49.
Massive Emergency Response
Two emergency ambulance crews, paramedic officers, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham, and two Mercia Accident Rescue Service doctors all raced to the scene.
Paramedic Dies, Driver Injured
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed: “Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, nothing could be done to save our colleague, who was the front passenger. He was confirmed dead at the scene.”
“His crewmate, the driver, was injured but has been treated and discharged from hospital.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service Chief Executive Anthony Marsh said: “This is truly awful news. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and colleagues at this very difficult time.”
“I’m enormously proud of the staff and university students who worked tirelessly to save our colleague. I am sorry we could not.”
