Tragic Stabbing at Gypsy Queen Pub Claims Young Man’s Life
Mr Byrne, 26, also known as Coley, was fatally stabbed at the Gypsy Queen pub on Drake House Lane around 10pm. He was rushed to hospital but sadly died from his injuries.

The family has been officially informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers. They have requested privacy and will not be issuing statements through the police at this time.
South Yorkshire Police Hunt Suspects in Fatal Stabbing
A post-mortem confirmed Mr Byrne died from multiple stab wounds. South Yorkshire Police have launched a murder investigation, led by DCI Mick Hakin, who said:
“I know incidents like this can have a devastating impact on the wider community, and I want to reassure you we are doing everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.”
He added the investigation is progressing rapidly with specialist officers focusing on finding the suspects. “We believe this was an isolated incident with no risk to the wider community,” DCI Hakin said.
