A teenage boy was stabbed and then arrested as chaos ripped through Romford’s South Street last Thursday night.
Knife Violence Erupts in Romford
At around 5:30pm on 19 March 2026, police rushed to South Street after reports of a knife fight. While officers scrambled to the scene, new calls revealed a stabbing at Romford Station, forcing the station to shut down amid the investigation.
16-Year-Old Hospitalised and Detained
Emergency services, including London Ambulance Service, arrived quickly. A 16-year-old boy was treated on the spot before being rushed to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening or permanent.
Shockingly, this same teenager was arrested on suspicion of affray and remains under police guard in hospital as detectives probe deeper.
Police Hunt More Suspects Following Violent Riot
Officers are on the lookout for others involved in the violent disorder that tore through Romford. The force urges anyone with information or footage to come forward.
