Ex-Coach Banned for 12 Years After Sending Lewd Pics to Women’s Footballers

Ryan Hamilton, former boss of Sutton Coldfield Town Women, has been slapped with a 12-year ban. An FA disciplinary panel found he sent explicit images and sickeningly suggestive messages to players and a colleague. Using Snapchat and WhatsApp, Hamilton shared photos of his genitals and even videos of masturbation. He also made shocking proposals to players, suggesting sex in changing rooms.
Players Speak Out—Bullying and Abuse Uncovered
Five women, including four players, bravely reported Hamilton’s vile behaviour to berkshire999.co.uk/where/birmingham/" title="Birmingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Birmingham County FA in October 2024. They handed over “credible and compelling evidence” covering two years of harassment. Hamilton quit Sutton Coldfield Town Women shortly after the accusations came to light.
The panel also exposed Hamilton’s “verbally aggressive and bullying management style,” which left players so humiliated some quit the club entirely.
FA Condemns Hamilton’s Offensive Conduct
Out of 24 charges, Hamilton was found guilty on 23 counts of improper conduct. The FA’s regulatory commission slammed him for showing “no introspection, contrition or remorse” and lacking “any insight into the effect of his conduct.”
Panel chair Jane Bickerstaff KC said Hamilton had abused his “position of trust” with “misogynistic and sexually inappropriate” behaviour. She declared an immediate football ban was the only fitting punishment.
