A Chippenham woman has tragically died after a shocking patio explosion left her with severe burns, a coroner has revealed.

Tragedy Strikes Orchard Crescent

Anna Myshenkova, 42, was found lifeless in her garden on Orchard Crescent at around 3:20pm on 5 March. Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a person on fire and presumed dead.

PC Jake Bell said ambulance staff urgently requested backup after hearing someone was “on fire and expected to be deceased.”

Neighbours Hear Terrifying Blast

Locals described a loud bang as the patio slab exploded. Fire officials explained the blast was caused by rapid heating underneath the concrete. Moisture trapped inside turned into high-pressure steam, triggering the deadly explosion.

Coroner Declares Death ‘Unnatural’

Wiltshire area coroner Ian Singleton revealed at the inquest opening that Anna’s death involved a combustible liquid igniting her body or clothing, causing fatal burns.

He confirmed there was no evidence of third-party involvement in the incident.

Remembering Anna Myshenkova
