Masked Mob Hijacks UPS Van in Daring Knife-Point Heist
Last November 24, a gang disguised in fake UPS uniforms and balaclavas carried out a brazen robbery on Clerkenwell Road near Farringdon. The crooks tailed a UPS van as it left the depot, then forced the courier at knifepoint into the back of his own vehicle before making off with the stolen van.
Parcels Ransacked and Stolen in Smooth Getaway
The gang unloaded every parcel destined for Hatton Green before speeding off in multiple cars. Initially, they left no trace behind, pulling off the heist with military precision.
CCTV Footage Cracks Case: Police Track Gang to Hackney Den
Thanks to CCTV footage, cops traced the gang to a Hackney residential address where the stolen goods had been stashed. The criminals even returned later in separate vehicles to collect their loot, unaware the police were closing in.
Massive Raids Net Seven Suspects and Drug Haul
On January 15, police blitzed 12 locations across London and the Home Counties, arresting seven suspects connected to the robbery.
“The Crown Prosecution Service charged those in custody with conspiracy to commit robbery, kidnap, possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, and possession of Class A drugs,” confirmed police.
The accused have not been named. They appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on January 16, all remanded in custody as the investigation continues.
