Man Jailed for Brutal Unprovoked Stabbing in London
Ervin Negrobar, 23, has been locked up for seven-and-a-half years after launching a shocking unprovoked knife attack on a 37-year-old man in Ironmonger Row last December.
Terrifying Street Attack Caught by PCSO Duo
The victim was waiting to collect his wife when Negrobar suddenly started banging on the car windows and bonnet, even trying to open the door. When the victim got out to protect his wife, a violent fight broke out. He was stabbed once in the shoulder, suffering nerve damage and is still recovering.
Police quickly circulated a description of the attacker on their airwaves. Just 20 minutes after the 9pm assault, PCSOs Lauren Galloway and her colleague spotted Negrobar nearby. They cleverly engaged him in conversation and kept him in sight at a safe distance, feeding live updates to officers.
Knife Found Hidden on Suspect
The two PCSOs expertly “herded” Negrobar into the path of armed officers, who arrested him on the street. They found a bloodied knife tucked inside his waistband.
Negrobar, of no fixed address, later admitted wounding and was sentenced last week (25 Feb).
Detective Praises PCSOs’ Quick Thinking
“Much of the credit goes to Lauren and her colleague,” said Detective Constable Paul Deeley. “They spotted him based on description and struck up a conversation to keep him nearby. They gave a running commentary and basically herded Negrobar into the hands of officers. It was a great team effort.
“The victim was simply trying to pick up his wife when attacked for no clear reason. He has suffered nerve damage and is still recovering. I hope the jail term brings him some comfort.”
